Since the beginning of his painting , which has already received recognition in 1960 with the award of Milan and San Fedele Prize Cesare da Sesto , reflects a quest to overcome academicism to investigate informal and constructive values representative of the space. By integrating with rigorous planning , techniques of painting, drawing and sculpture , P. reveals the dynamics and relationships of form and matter : architectural interiors , definite places and at the same time imaginary rigidly geometric or biomorphic sculptures , symbiosis of architectural buildings and natural environments . After the series Architectures ( 1972 ) , which also uses steel cables and rods that interact with the painted canvas , P. draw with the usual design approach sets Window (1977) , Gates (1978) and the complex installation Poetically dwells man (1977), whose title refers to the verses of Hölderlin and inspired by Wittgenstein's project for the house of his sister ; Bias in the series ( since 1979 ) Two overlapping surfaces ( canvas and masonite , canvas and steel ) generate a system intersections of diagonals, open to different routing solutions . The three-dimensionality of the system, real or allusive , drawn by lines of force and chromatic , remains constant even in later works such as the number of plants and the apses ( 1979-84 ) , the iron structure painted Body building presented at the Biennial Venice in 1986 , the series on canvas Cinema ( 1987) and again in paintings such as Sainte Victoire Mountain (1993) , in which the color , prevailing on the sign, space offers new suggestions .
