Tornietto ()

Born in Florence Fernando Farulli studied at the art school of Porta Romana [1]. He teaches painting at the Art Institute of Sesto Fiorentino and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence [1]. After the first war he joined the Florentine movement "Arte Oggi" [2] [3]. Shortly before 1960 he was part of the circle of artists - Renzo Vespignani, Ugo Attardi, Ennio Calabria, Piero Guccione and Alberto Gianquinto - who together with art critics Antonio Del Guercio, Dario Micacchi and Morosini, gave birth to the group called Il Pro and counter [1] [3], a reference point of research in the field of figurative painting. In Rome he gets the support of Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti and Renzo Federici. In the 1960s, he created sets for works by Luigi Dallapiccola (the only act of The Night Flight (1964) at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Ulysses (1968) at Deutsche Oper in Berlin). In 1963 his work was exhibited at the exhibition Contemporary Italian Paintings, set up in some Australian cities [4]. Farulli was also a councilor to the culture of the municipality of Fiesole
